Buffalo gunman planned to continue shooting rampage, police say |

| The 18-year-old accused of a racist shooting rampage that left 10 Black people dead at a Buffalo supermarket planned to continue his deadly spree on the street before he was stopped, police said today. |

| “It appeared that his plans were to drive out of here and continue driving down Jefferson Avenue looking to shoot more Black people as he could and possibly go to another store location,” Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” |

| The gunman drove more than 200 miles to the Tops Friendly Market in a predominantly Black neighborhood, where he livestreamed his rampage on Saturday, police said. |

| Authorities are investigating the shooting as a racially motivated hate crime. The suspect appears to have left a disturbing online trail and senior law enforcement officials say they believe he wrote a 180-page “manifesto” citing a racist conspiracy theory. |

| The ten people killed include a retired Buffalo police officer working as a security guard at the store, as well as a teacher, and a community leader. |

Suspect charged in deadly church shooting in Southern California |

| A Las Vegas man has been identified as the suspect in a shooting at a church in Southern California on Sunday that left one person dead and five others injured. |
|---|
|
|---|
| The suspect, David Chou, 68, has been charged with one count of murder and five counts of attempted murder, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said. |
|---|
|
|---|
| Chou is accused of opening fire at a meeting at the Taiwanese church, where as many as 40 people had gathered. |
|---|
|
|---|
| Church members detained the suspect by hogtying him with electrical extension cords, according to the sheriff’s department. |
|---|
|
|---|
| The motive is under investigation. |

FDA chief says baby formula plant could reopen in about two weeks |

| An Abbott Nutrition baby formula plant that was shut down over safety concerns should be up and running again in about two weeks, according to FDA Commissioner Robert Califf. |

|
|---|
| “Abbott is responsible for the timeline, but I’m very comfortable with what they said about two weeks,” Califf told NBC’s “TODAY” show. “That’s entirely within the realm of possibility and I think quite likely.” |

|
|---|
| Califf did not say when formula will be back on the shelves. More than 40 percent of the country’s supply is out of stock, according to Datasembly. |

| Abbott said it has conducted a thorough review and found “no evidence” linking their baby formulas to the illnesses. |

Sweden to join Finland in applying to join NATO |

| Sweden announced today it will formally apply to join NATO, bringing an end to more than 200 years of neutrality, in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. |

| The historic moves comes as lawmakers in neighboring Finland are expected to vote soon on their own NATO bid. |

|
|---|
| Inside Ukraine, the country’s forces have reached the Russian border in the northeast after driving Vladimir Putin’s forces back from Kharkiv, the head of the regional administration said early Monday. |

| And the global backlash against Russia is growing. McDonald’s announced today it will sell its business in Russia after more than 30 years in the country. |
