Mobile payments — the plastic card killers — have had years of hype building them up, but not much in the way of results to go with that hype. That is, until recently. Apple Pay has struggled to get above a 5 percent usage rate and it’s actually leading the mPay race. Despite only being about a year old, though, Walmart Pay boasts an adoption rate that already rivals Apple Pay’s — and a genuine enthusiasm quotient among its user base.
