Background check: Now that the six finalists for NOPD chief have been revealed, the public vetting has begun. And one candidate, a former NOPD officer who went on to other policing jobs, has a past that could prove controversial. Thedrick Andres Sr. killed a man after a party in Arlington, Texas, in 2014. As John Simerman reports, a grand jury rejected charges against Andrew, and a judge threw out a civil suit brought by the man's family, saying Andres' actions were not unreasonable. Sticker shock: New Orleans property owners are set to receive letters from the Orleans Parish Assessor's Office later this month, and they may not like what they find.
