DOUBLE DIPPING: Eleven New Orleans police officers – up from five - are now under federal investigation for allegedly fudging their work hours and double dipping with off-duty details, the Police Department says. Officials also confirmed that an internal investigation found Capt. Sabrina Richardson, the former ranking officer of the Public Integrity Bureau and now commander of the 3rd Police District covering Lakeview and Gentilly, committed myriad violations related to details, and that they notified the district attorney’s office to consider criminal charges.
‘EVERY RULE IN THE BOOK’: Kenner Mayor Ben Zahn directed city employees to deliver public equipment free of charge to a privately run festival more than 40 miles away in Livingston Parish, according to interviews and city records. A Zahn administration spokesperson said Kenner got a promotional benefit for providing tents and barricades for "Bo’s Extravaganza," an annual birthday bash in Livingston Parish for Zahn’s friend, the actor, movie director and musician John Schneider. But an ethics lawyer who reviewed the matter said, “It has the potential for violating … virtually every rule in the book.”
