Construction is set to begin next week on the University Avenue Revitalization project, which will feature raised medians and sidewalks to improve pedestrian safety and make the area more attractive. The work is part of what was formerly called the University Avenue Corridor Initiative. It's been a project folks have been waiting on for some time. Three years ago I did a deep dive on this project, and although some of it has changed, the premise remains: improving the safety area that high pedestrian traffic but no sidewalks.
