ancestry does horrible interrracial romance commercial
Ancestry.com released an advertisement of a Black enslaved woman being stopped by a white man, in the rain, with him proposing to her that they go up North so that they could be together. Yikes.

Max Landis’s New Film Might Be “Distanced” From Him, but New Allegations Prove It Shouldn’t Be Made

The screenwriter's newest films might be "distanced" from him, but he doesn't deserve a comeback overall.

The Mueller Report Should Be the Last Straw for Trump’s Defenders, but It Won’t Be

trump sexism reporters
He's been fact checked to infinity and back again, with flagrantly false statements flying left and right, never acknowledging his errors or backing down. In fact, he's proud of the fact that he never admits he's wrong, and his defenders follow right along. Why would this be any different?

Star Trek: Discovery’s Season Two Finale Was a Mess

Star Trek Discovery season finale review
I wish that there was a better, kinder word with which to describe Star Trek: Discovery's season finale, "Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2." But the episode, a loud and clangy combustion of an already hard-to-follow season, was like Discovery's normal bombastic pitch turned up past eleven.

Megan Fox Isn’t Supporting the LGBT Community—She Is a Part of the Community

Megan Fox WonderCon
Megan Fox took to social media to speak up against the anti-LGBTQ bills in Tennessee, which is as good a time as any to remind everyone that she is bisexual and not a straight ally.

So Donald Trump Can Just Use Game of Thrones Memes Now?

It brings me no joy going to Donald Trump's Twitter and seeing that he's making Game of Thrones references, but it also isn't a new thing. For some unknown reason, Trump loves to play off of the show, like everyone else who's ever been out of touch and tried to make a pop culture reference they didn't understand.

Charlotte Brontë’s Hair Found on Antiques Roadshow, Clearly the Greatest Show We Aren’t Watching

On the latest episode of Antiques Roadshow, a lock of hair in a ring discovered in a Welsh attic is “very likely” to have been the hair of Charlotte Brontë, according to the Brontë Society, which is probably even bigger news than anything that happened on Game of Thrones last week.

bernie sanders sits on a senate committee hearing
Sanders was asked by one of the town hall moderators whether he believes “that a woman should be able to terminate a pregnancy up until the moment of birth.” He gave a pro-choice answer of course, but even that helps to legitimize a bad-faith question about a fictitious scenario.
