EVENTS
The first IETM Caravan of 2024 takes us to the Slovenian cities of Ljubljana and Maribor, where participants will experience the fifth edition of the TRIGGER platform showcase organised by Glej theatre and TRIGGER platform consortium. Alongside a rich selection of performance work, panels and dialogues, we will attempt to place local contemporary performing arts practices within the socio-political legacy of the former Yugoslavia.

This Caravan welcomes both IETM members and non-members - however, it is only open to presenters of performing arts works. Professionals who work in a double capacity - meaning those who both produce work and present work - are eligible to apply to participate in the Caravan. Selected applicants will be contacted by mid-December.

Application deadline: 7 December 2023 at 17:00 CET

This was the IETM Caravan Kosovo 2023

Last week, over 60 international participants joined us in Kosovo during the Kosovo Theatre Showcase 2023. We are still thinking about the rich and resilient independent theatre sector of Kosovo and the kindness from all the locals we met in the cities of Prishtina, Gjilan, Gjakova and Prizren.
Thank you to our local organisers Teatri Oda and Qendra Multimedia, all the speakers, guests, artists and our participants.

RESOURCES

In this essay, Greenlandic-Danish director, researcher, producer and sound designer Sirí Paulsen offers a valuable insight into the Greenlandic performing arts from a performance-historical perspective. With a particular focus on Inuit narratives, archival traditions and the transmission of knowledge, she asks - which story is being told, who is telling it, and to which audience?

ADVOCACY & EU NEWS

In the past months, IETM - in coordination with other representatives of the cultural sector - has engaged with the European Parliament in order to ensure that the EP report 'An EU framework for the social and professional situation of artists and workers in the cultural and creative sectors' takes the necessary steps to improve the working conditions in the creative sector. Find out more about the adopted report and what the framework will include here.

The call for small and medium cooperation projects from Creative Europe is now open. With a budget of €60 million, the call aims to support at least 130 cooperation projects between cultural organisations to increase the cross-border dimension of creation and circulation of European artistic content. It will also encourage the development, experimentation, dissemination and application of new and innovative practices.

Applications for large cooperation projects are currently not being accepted by Creative Europe due to budget cuts. This development was strongly opposed by 69 organisations, including IETM, in a joint campaign over the course of the past summer.

The call aims to support artists and cultural professionals to carry out a project with a partner of their choice in another Creative Europe country.  The grant contributes to travel and subsistence costs, and offers additional top-ups based on grantees’ individual situation. Read more and apply by 31 May 2023.
