Following the success and strong impact on our network of the first round of IETM Global Connect 2021-22, applications for IETM Global Connect 2023 are now open to performing arts professionals worldwide (producers, artists, managers, presenters, etc) who have at least 5 years of professional experience in the field. We are looking for professionals who are committed to increasing global awareness, inclusion, accessibility and connectivity – in the sector at large and within their own communities.
Selected applicants will receive an IETM membership for 5 years (from the beginning of 2023 till the end of 2027), with free access to all of our meetings. They will also receive funding support to take part in the 2023 IETM plenary meeting in Aarhus, Denmark and, as part of the plenary, in the yearly IETM Global Connectors Gathering.
We strongly welcome applications from countries and regions where IETM does not have any members, in particular from countries across the Global South.

We are happy to announce that the IETM Plenary Meeting 2023 will be held in Aarhus, Denmark,from Monday 12 to Thursday 15 June 2023, under the title “Living on the Edge”.
IETM Aarhus will be co-organised with our member Performing Arts Platform. Head over to our website for an overview of the dates and more information on the partners involved in the project.
During IETM Belgrade, we live streamed our two keynotes; Dance against Labour with Tomislav Medak and Your Money or your Life! with Jelena Vesić. The talks were live streamed via Howlround and are now available to watch back.
In June 2022, Perform Europe held an event at the Bozar in Brussels, Belgium, where its impact was explored and policy recommendations to the European Institutions and Member States were presented.
At the event, Perform Europe had the opportunity to interview a handful of artists and presenters that took part in the pilot, as well as Gundega Laivina, chair of the Perform Europe jury and representatives of its consortium. Perform Europe’s Documentary aims to reflect and unravel the impact that taking part in the Perform Europe pilot had on the partnerships and the communities in which they toured, as well as look behind the scenes at the journey and selection process.
In 2022, 24 IETM members took part in the first edition of Local Journeys for Change (LJC), developing projects which take a look at inclusive practices in their local and professional contexts.
Today, we have once again launched an open call for our members to apply for the 2023 edition of Local Journeys for Change, which will focus on supporting projects and ideas on green transitioning in the performing arts.

IETM, together with Bitef, has commissioned this mapping which intends to provide a concise yet comprehensive overview of the contemporary performing arts in Serbia. The underlying idea was to analyse the performing arts in Serbia through three dominant models – public theatres, independent performing arts organisations, and private theatres.
In April 2022, IETM gathered its members in Brussels for our newly formatted Focus meeting, titled Fair Enough? It was a space to explore, critique and improve our work practices and conditions.
With contributions from 173 participants, the IETM Focus Brussels report is a collection of challenges we still face as a sector and ideas on how we can advance the fair and green transition of the performing arts and rethink our international existence, in small and large steps.
IETM is pleased to announce the appointment of their new Policy and Research Manager Isabelle Van de Gejuchte.
Until September 2022, Isabelle worked for the British Council in Brussels, where she held several positions, including head of EU Advocacy and Engagement Lead with EUNIC (EU National Institutes for Culture). Over the last few years, she organised a series of workshops and webinars on arts and disability, the cultural dimension of sustainable development, protection of Cultural Heritage and culture and social changes. She also worked with EUNIC on a research report - ‘Cultural Relations - Key approaches in fragile contexts’.
On the Move (Belgium) is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented and engaged Communications Officer to help OTM’s team implement its EU-funded network project. This new team member will be employed for 20 hours a week for a one-year contract, with possible extension.
Jasmin Vardimon Company (UK) is seeking an Executive Director to join the organisation. Together with their Artistic Director, Jasmin Vardimon, the Executive Director will lead on the delivery of the company’s entrepreneurial and creative business model, with a key focus on their national and international goals.
MANIFEST, a new project promoted by our member Pro progressione (Hungary), is looking for artists that will be supported in creating 12 artworks to re-imagine Europe’s collective memory of the transatlantic trade of enslaved people.
