A Wednesday report from The New York Times is shedding light on a whistleblower's accusations that the Washington University Transgender Center at St. Louis Children's Hospital in Missouri was too quick to administer hormone drugs to minor patients. Emails obtained by the outlet show a significant increase in new patient calls, with the hospital turning to outside therapists to determine a child's eligibility for puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones. Staff expressed concerns about the growing number of patients who identified as trans and suffered from mental health issues.
