Thank you to all of our amazing candidates - they are working so hard to spread the word and get out the vote! Now is the time to make sure you and your families are all registered to vote (the deadline is October 13th). There is still time to join the Neighborhood Leader Program so that we can make sure to get the vote out throughout Jackson County! We also recognize that this is a very stressful, painful, and difficult time for many in our community, and we hope that you and your families are safe. Important Dates to Remember this Fall!

Tues October 13: Last day to register to vote; postmark or online by 11:59 pm

Fri October 16: Ballots mailed

Tues October 20: Last day for county Voter’s Pamphlet distribution

Tues November 3: Ballots must be in a ballot box or with the county clerk by 8 pm

Displaced? Here's How to Make Sure You Get Your Ballot!

Update Your Mailing Address. To vote in Oregon, you must provide a the county with a physical address. This could be a shelter, a church, a social service agency, or any other identifyable location (including your county elections office). Voters who have been displaced or lost their homes should update their mailing address, even though their legal address is still the site of their lost home. Any Oregon voter can pick up their ballot directly from the county elections office if necessary. Update your Voter's Registration NO LATER THAN October 13th. If you've had to evacuate your home due to fires, or have lost your home, your voter registration must be updated by October 13th. It is quick and easy and can be done online at BeRegistered.org. After a disaster, it's hard to know where you will be months from now. Make a best guess for where you will be. If you update your registration, and then end up somewhere else in Oregon, you will still be able to vote. Staying in another County? Request a Provisional Ballot. You can request a provisional ballot at any county elections office, and vote in a different county than you are registered in. To obtain a provisional ballot you need to fill out a Provisional Ballot Request Form in person at the county elections office. Election Day is Tuesday November 3rd! Ballots are due by 8PM on Tuesday November 3rd. Postage is no longer required to mail your Oregon ballot. You may drop your ballot off at any drop site up until 8PM on November 3rd.

SOCAN Candidate Interviews

Southern Oregon Climate Action Now (SOCAN) has conducted 30-minute interviews with candidates for Oregon House Districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 55; Oregon Senate Districts 1, 2, 28; and Jackson County Board of Commissioners, Position 2. The Curry County Board of Commissioners races and the Josephine County Position 3 race were decided in the primary, while the Josephine County Position 2 candidates declined our invitation. The interview questions focused on climate and environment.
