Monday, March 11, 2024 Olympic Qualifier Series Part I – Shanghai, China – Information for the media
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Qualifier Series (OQS) Shanghai Local Organising Committee (LOC) are pleased to announce that the media accreditation process for the inaugural OQS event will run from 11 March to 21 April 2024. Media interested in attending this event are asked to apply for an accreditation by following the instructions below.
General information
The Olympic Qualifier Series, a key project under Olympic Agenda 2020+5, brings together the best athletes in BMX freestyle, breaking, skateboarding and sport climbing in a single Urban Park. The two-part series, taking place in the period leading up to the Olympic Games, will be an important step in determining which athletes qualify for Paris 2024.
The Olympic Qualifier Series Part 1 – Shanghai will take place from 16 to 19 May 2024 at the Huangpu Riverside.
Accreditation
Media representatives interested in covering the Olympic Qualifier Series Part 1 – Shanghai should submit their accreditation application on the registration portal.
The registration is open for Media Rights-Holders and non-Media Rights-Holders, written press and photographers, as well as writers and photographers working for publications and/or websites of International Federations (IFs) and National Federations (NFs).
The application period is from 11 March to 23:59 China Standard Time on 21 April.
Visas and immigration
As the OQS accreditation cards will not serve as a visa and will not be mailed prior to the event, it is the responsibility of each accredited individual to verify the documents required for entry into China. A Visa Invitation Letter, to support visa applications, can be requested through the accreditation application.
Accommodation
The LOC has selected the City Hotel for the media. The hotel is located in close proximity to the Huangpu Riverside where the event will take place. A dedicated shuttle service will be provided at all official accommodation.
Accredited media will be able to make their booking requests through the registration system by 21 April 2024.
Transport
Accredited media can use OQS Shanghai 2024 transport services operating between the airports and official hotels.
The shuttle service operated by the Shanghai LOC will be a shared bus service connecting the OQS Urban Park and the official accommodation.
Media facilities and services
The media centre is located in the OQS Urban Park at the Huangpu Riverside, where all sports competitions and activities will take place.
It will be operational from 15 to 19 May 2024.
Other media facilities in the OQS Urban Park include mixed zones, and camera and photo positions.
