| Dear WSWS readers, The United Nations Foundation has designated today "Giving Tuesday," a day supposedly reserved for focusing on charitable donations. For the ruling class, however, the real task at hand is to give itself a massive handout--in the form of a tax cut for corporations and the rich, which is being fast-tracked through the US Congress. This would be only the latest stage in a global process of wealth redistribution that has seen unimaginable sums accumulated by a tiny elite. As the WSWS reported yesterday, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is now worth more than $100 billion, thanks to a stock surge from "Black Friday." Bezos wealth is sufficient to cover the estimated cost of abolishing world hunger; providing clean water to everyone; educating every child; giving free maternal and prenatal care to every mother; preventing 4 million malaria deaths; and housing every homeless individual in Americacombined. Help us fight back! The ruling class is also taking ... not only through the exploitation of the working class, including the 300,000 who work for Amazon. It is also taking away the basic democratic rights of the population. The drive to censor the Internet is going into overdrive, with the moves by the Trump administration to end net neutrality. This is in line with the campaign by the Democratic Party, working with Google, Facebook, Twitter and other Internet platforms, to censor content under the guise of combating "fake news." The great problems facing mankind will be resolved not through charity, but through the abolition of capitalism.
