Dear John,

The past 12 months have been quite the experience for fans of U2. Here’s some of the U2.com highlights, from January to December.

'We've combined our psychedelic pop style with political imagery…'
In January, the Israeli graffiti collective Broken Fingaz Crew, spoke to us about their video for Get Out Of Your Own Way.'

'Blessed are the arrogant, for theirs is the kingdom of their own company…'
It opens with Kendrick Lamar and in March we premiered a new video for 'American Soul', featuring the band's live performance on The Hudson River in New York City.

'The idea behind the video is... to celebrate love, to celebrate individuality, to celebrate everyone.'
In April photographer and filmmaker David Mushegain talked to us about directing a beautiful life-affirming documentary video for 'Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way'.

'The plastic crisis is now one of the most pressing environmental concerns worldwide...'
By May the e+i Tour was underway in North America and Cathleen Falsani introduced the rock'n'roll debut of the rentable, recyclable cup.

Live From The Storefront
Also that month, the band were in Nashville and you can't go to Nashville without dropping in on Jack White's Third Man Records. And playing a song or two. This was a stripped back version of 'Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way'.

'Oh sing your song…'
In June Beck joined forces with the band on a special remix of 'Love is Bigger…' Stream. Listen. Download it here.

'It's the artist's responsibility to keep making art that is authentic and honest.'
In July Edel Rodriguez, 'America's Illustrator-In-Chief', talked to us on camera about working with the band on dozens of illustrations for the e+i Tour.

'The feedback was the teeth should be more misshapen, creepier... more monstrous.'
Digital designer Marc Wakefield spoke to us in August, about the augmented reality camera filter that helped Bono resurrect his diabolical alter-ego… Mr MacPhisto.

'It was a musical journey...'
Adam and Edge joined a hundred-plus U2.com subscribers at The Savoy Theatre in Dublin in October, thirty years to the day that the cinema premiered Rattle and Hum.

'This is Zoo Station… it really exists.'
In November, as the band returned to Berlin to close the tour, Bono spoke to U2.com about this city 'that attracts surrealists'.

On The Road… On Camera.
The U2.com Team were on the road with the band all year… and we shot a lot of video. You can find them all here.
