Another major shooting: The French Quarter was the scene of a brazen daytime shooting that killed one and wounded three in front of Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse on Thursday. On the heels of two shootings that left two dead and 11 injured at a second-line over the weekend, city leaders are struggling to find solutions. Breaking point: Sam Karlin has a look at how Louisiana's insurance crisis is affecting Louisiana's retirees in the latest installment of our series, Breaking Point. Diversion project: Gov. Jeff Landry strongly criticized the long-planned Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion project on Thursday, saying the project would "break" parts of Louisiana's culture in its current form. He called for a compromise on the $3 billion-plus project, which advocates say is necessary to address coastal land loss. Mark Schleifstein has the details.
