| | | | For most of the members of the international community, Russia’s war on Ukraine came as a surprise. Symmetric warfare, the attack of one state on another seemed to be a phenomenon of the past. In hindsight, the believe in a rule-based international order and the power of multilateral organizations proved too be too strong. Before all, the war has affected Ukraine and Ukrainians, but it has also taken a toll on most of us, and it has certainly changed our perceptions of international politics and international security. Over the last year, the experts of the Austrian Institute for International Affairs discussed with international experts and produced a large number of analyses, articles and op-eds dealing with the effects of the war on different areas and regions. At the anniversary of the return of war to Europe we share a selection of our analyses and videos of our discussions of the last 12 months and a number of public events to come in the near future. | | | | |
