Dear Supporter, This week marks one year since powerful earthquakes hit Türkiye and Syria. These were among the strongest quakes to strike the Middle East in over two decades, affecting 15 million people in Türkiye and around 8.8 million people in Syria. Tragically, more than 50,000 people were killed. Generous supporters helped UNHCR mobilise quickly and provide emergency supplies such as tents and blankets in both countries. UNHCR’s dedicated teams also provided counselling, legal aid, and emergency cash assistance to help families buy food and medicine.
Many of the people most affected by the earthquakes were Syrians already displaced by the war. The quakes brought more suffering to these communities, both in Syria and in neighbouring Türkiye – the country that hosts the most refugees in the world. Supporter, UNHCR is still working to help displaced Syrians recover from this disaster. Will you help vulnerable families rebuild their lives? Please donate now – your generous gift can provide shelter, cash assistance and psychological support. Thank you for supporting refugees and displaced people. Your gift can make all the difference to a family that has endured crisis after crisis. Yours sincerely,
