AVIATION WEEK MARKETPLACE Sierra Space C14E Bi-Axis Gimbal | The Bi-Axis Gimbal was developed specifically for spacecraft pointing applications. The gimbal is based on the C14E rotary actuator. The actuator contains a permanent magnet stepper motor driving a harmonic drive. The motor and transmission are designed as free standing units that allow for modular combinations of motor and transmission to easily adapt to a variety of applications. Alternate transmission ratios can be selected to provide output step sizes of 0.10, 0.0625 or 0.05 degrees. |
