Samsung has announced its new Galaxy S9 series at MWC 2018. Optus has announced pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy 9 and 9+ shortly after the South Korean conglomerate held a news conference in Barcelona to launch the two smartphones.

Chinese telecoms giant Huawei has been in the news a lot lately. Some of it has to do with its excellent technological advances and products but there is also the spectre of US accusations of the company being a security threat.

The US has warned Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull not to allow Huawei to supply equipment for any future 5G networks, indicating that there are security risks involved. The problem is Huawei is a world 5G leader.
