Cloud native application deployment using a multicloud container platforms
Cloud native container-based microservices are the new norm for application architectures. Multicloud is the new norm for cloud consumption. Combine these two and you end up with significant challenges. How do you manage costs and complexity while deploying to multiple clouds? How do you know if your app is running properly? If it isn't, how do you figure out why? How do you move an app from cloud to cloud? We discuss developing, deploying, and operating cloud native applications using an open source container platform ( Verrazzano). We demonstrate how to easily move an application from cloud to cloud with a single DevOps stack spanning Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, on-premises, and other cloud platforms.

David Cabelus of Oracle discusses cloud native application deployment using a multicloud container platform.

Build custom Linux images for cloud deployment
Your application workloads may have specific requirements for the underlying Linux images, so how do you customize them for virtualized or multicloud deployments? Learn how, by using open source Oracle Linux image tools. Image building is accomplished using Packer to build images from the Oracle Linux ISO using Oracle VM VirtualBox or QEMU/KVM builders.

Simon Coter of Oracle discusses building custom Linux images for cloud deployment.

Automate infrastructure as code and configuration management
Oracle Linux Automation Manager and Oracle Linux Automation Engine provide a cost-effective, powerful, scalable, and secure infrastructure automation framework for enterprise environments. Based on the open source AWX and Ansible projects, respectively, they streamline software provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment—enabling infrastructure as code. Learn how they can help you manage multiple administrative tasks while mitigating potential configuration drift within your cloud environment.

Simon Coter of Oracle shows how to automate infrastructure as code and configuration management.

DevOps and hybrid cloud native application management and monitoring
Organizations facing challenges adopting cloud native paradigms will learn how Oracle can help. We review end-to-end DevOps lifecycle management using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) DevOps capabilities. Find out how updating a Helidon microservice triggers an automated build and deployment to OCI Container Engine for Kubernetes. We also cover managing and monitoring cloud native solutions in a hybrid landscape with Verrazzano, our opinionated open-source enterprise container platform.

Sid Joshi of Oracle discusses DevOps and hybrid cloud native application management and monitoring.
Increase security using an AirGap solution with Oracle VM VirtualBox
How do you enable remote workers to securely access applications? How do you protect your workspace from ransomware? Learn how an AirGap solution with Oracle VM VirtualBox can help you develop an isolated, secured, and encrypted environment to run and manage sensitive company data.

Simon Coter of Oracle shows how to increase security using AirGap with Oracle VM VirtualBox.

Hard Partitioning with Oracle Linux KVM
Oracle Linux KVM offers an advanced feature for hard partitioning, also known as CPU pinning. Hard partitioning means binding vCPUs to physical CPU threads or cores and prevents these vCPUs from being scheduled on physical CPUs, threads or cores, other than the ones specified. Read the technical brief.
