The depth of my pride for my colleagues here at KQED is impossible to put into words. We’ve all been tested before, but many of us never imagined a story of this magnitude, with global impact, and with no clear end in sight. I know first-hand the journalists at KQED are not only hard-working and reliable, but strive to reflect the cultural touchstones of Northern California, such as empathy, compassion and an unwavering dedication to facts. Making sense of the world is what fuels us, and I’m certain you share that drive.
With a crisis of such enormous scope, our traditional radio pledge drive just didn’t make sense. We knew we needed to devote our on-air time to keeping you apprised of developments, not asking for your support.
