Overnight freeze ices roads in BR

with Jennifer Wadsworth | Assistant metro editor

Good afternoon. Let's get you caught up on our top stories today.

Overnight freeze

The cold snap wasn't as disruptive as last year's winter storm, but it did prompt some road closures and led many schools to go virtual for the day to err on the safe side. Here's a look at how the weather impacted the capital region and what to expect with more freezing nights ahead.

Fish kills

Hurricane Ida killed fish en masse — marking the largest such die-off in about a decade. "It was widespread and devastating," one official told us. But nature, as they say, is healing. So, there may be no need to restock the rivers as some initially planned. Jacqueline DeRobertis has the story.

A bigger, better library

Plans to relocate and rebuilt the Delmont Gardens Library took another step forward as part of a broader revitalization effort in and around Plank Road. Terry Jones has the details.

NOLA Jazz Fest

The Who, Stevie Nicks, Foo Fighters and Erykah Badu are set to headline the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Click here for details.

Thanks for reading, and have a great day.
