Good evening

You can’t help but feel sorry for the travel industry at the moment.

From March 23, 2020, when the country was first locked down, the businesses which provide us with the means to get abroad have been one of the hardest hit across the globe.

Others have also suffered - hospitality and entertainment amongst them - but as travel has been all but banned for much of the last 16 months, the people who work within the industry have been left devastated. Now they have seen another deadline come and go, albeit in a bid to keep us all safe.

However, the Government appears to be considering allowing people who have received both vaccinations to travel abroad in an attempt to get the industry back on its feet. That will take some doing, but at least that would be a start.

After all, if you have your vaccinations and take sensible precautions, why not? The alternative is that we all stay in our homes for the rest of our lives, rather than living.

And those who don’t want to get on a plane can give our own tourism industry a boost for years to come.

Until next time, take care,

Gillian
