Good afternoon,

As the roads get back to an element of normality there is nothing that winds us up here in Lancashire more than stupid behaviour behind the wheel.

This took on a surreal twist when one HGV driver was spotted watching an Avengers movie behind the wheel.

Needless to say his superhero knowledge wasn't particularly useful when police got involved.

Talking of superheroes, parents at one school haven't taken well to accusations they have been failing in their homeschooling lessons and leaving pupils behind.

Unsurprisingly, a letter saying some children 'have an inability to engage' went down like a lead balloon after all the work parents have been doing multi-tasking during lockdown.

We think you have all done a fantastic job in incredibly difficult circumstances.

I just also wanted to say a big thankyou to those who have already supported our move to a subscription website at lep.co.uk.

As I mentioned yesterday, this was a big decision to make, but one that can help ensure our future reporting, campaigning and representing you. We are here for you, thankyou for continuing to be there for us.

Happy Thursday! Nicola Adam, deputy editor
