| | | Edition 21 | 2025 | | Dear John Do, | | Women account for just 12.6 per cent of the executive board members of Germany's 100 largest family companies, a survey by the Allbright Foundation (2024) has found. Companies such as the Hamburg-based Otto Group show that things can be different. Three out of six board members including Katy Roewer are female. Roewer was appointed new CFO of the Otto Group in March and has been on the Executive Board for ten years and works part-time. Hamburg News discussed lessons learned, women in leadership and a fair(er) working world with her. In other news, Sascha Taube, Managing Director of the new Food Cluster Hamburg, reveals how the network aims to boost the city as a vibrant food centre. Also, the UITP world congress on public transport is underway in Hamburg, culture is now an economic factor, and we showcase the city’s bid for the Olympics and Paralympics. Sincerely, Hamburg News Editors | |
