[Not displaying correctly? View web version.] | Peak-of-Flight Newsletter #613: | This week, we have an article about helicopter hub design by Michael Hatcher. It is the hub that permit the blades to be attached to rocket, and allow them to fold down for launch. The article starts with a survey of the different types of hubs that were used in the past, and then makes some predictions of what might be possible in the future. It is pretty interesting reading. | Read the rest of this week's article, either on a downloadable PDF for printing out, or on our website (great for viewing on your phone)! | A Twister In Massachusetts Check out the simulation here. This is just a simple launch today. This is the Apogee Texas Twister rocket, being launched on an A3-4T motor from the CMASS launch site. I gave it a pre-spin of 5 revolutions per second. It made the launch nice and straight, and also prevented it from arcing over before deployment. This is a fun little kit, and I really need to launch it more often. |
Customer Testimonials: "I've known about Apogee for quite a while but I've never dealt with them until very recently and I'm glad I did. They are very helpful, knowledgeable, and have lots of video's and articles to look through. I just recently purchased Rocksim and Tim has been more than helpful with getting me "broken in" with the program since I'm old School which was quite a challenge! Anyway Great Job Apogee!!" -- David Fountain | |

I'm now actively seeking writers for articles to appear in this newsletter. And I want unique and cutting-edge articles because that is what you want to read, right? I realize this, so to get articles from outside writers that have the same level of quality, I'm going to have to pay a lot of cash to make it worth it for them. So I've come up with a compensation package where I'll pay up to $350 for good how-to articles. Are you a writer, and does that interest you? That is a lot of cash! Far more than you'll get by writing for other magazines. And with over 23,000 worldwide subscribers, if you write for the Peak-of-Flight Newsletter, you'll gain a lot of notoriety. Writing for the Peak-of-Flight Newsletter is a great way to show off your rocketry projects and your technical expertise, at the same time as helping out other rocketeers.
