PEI Group launches NEXUS 2025; PE Hub’s Dealmakers to Watch series features Gary Tang of Renovus

Good morning, Hubsters. MK Flynn here with the Wire.

Today, we’re featuring a new edition of our Dealmakers to Watch series. Healthcare reporter John R Fischer profiles Gary Tang, who recently joined Renovus Capital Partners

And PEI Group is launching NEXUS 2025, following up on the success of the debut conference in March. I’ll share details – and an Early Bird opportunity, below.

I’ll highlight some of the great content PE Hub published from the summit.

Plus, I’ll share a scheduling note.

Dealmaker to Watch

Growing up the son of Asian immigrant parents who arrived in the US with nothing but “a bag of clothes on their shoulders,” Gary Tang saw first-hand how poverty leads to poor health outcomes. He also witnessed the challenges of the business world from a young age, watching his father set up a small business that ultimately failed. These experiences ultimately led Tang to pursue a career in private equity. In May, Renovus Capital Partners announced he joined the firm as principal.

Tang spoke to PE Hub healthcare reporter John R Fischer. Premium subscribers may read the profile.

For PE Hub’s Dealmakers to Watch series, we’re featuring private equity professionals as they pivot to new challenges, such as moving to a new firm, launching a new firm, getting promoted to partner, launching an investment strategy, closing a significant deal or some other new endeavor.

NEXUS 2025

I’m delighted to announce that NEXUS will return to Orlando on March 10-12, 2025, at the Ritz Carlton, Orlando Grande Lakes.

For those of you who attended this year, you know that NEXUS is an electrifying convergence of private equity’s most influential investors and managers.

In 2024, keynote speakers included Blackstone’s Jon Gray, Carlyle’s David Rubenstein and the Riverside Company’s Pam Hendrickson, to name a few.

You can see our coverage of the 2024 event here, including my interview with Thoma Bravo co-founder Orland Bravo about the role of private equity in growing tech companies and about selling PE-backed tech companies to strategic buyers.

You can also see my video conversations focused on Life in the Lower Middle Market, including my chat with Suzanne Yoon, founder and managing partner of Kinzie Capital Partners.

More than 500 attendees came to NEXUS 2024.

NEXUS 2025 will be even bigger, bolder and deliver significant networking time in the Florida sunshine to ensure you can forge valuable relationships and get deals done.

PEI Group subscribers may take advantage of a special launch offer here.

I hope to see you in Orlando on March 10-12, 2025, for three days of world-class content, curated meetings and exclusive networking opportunities!

Before I sign off today, I want to mention that next week, Craig McGlashan and I will be meeting with our PEI Group editorial colleagues in London. Rafael Canton will fill in for me on the Wire on June 17, and Michael Schoeck will fill in for Craig on June 18.

If you have any London travel tips, send ‘em my way. My email address again is mk.flynn@pei.group.

Happy dealmaking,

MK
