Friends,

It has been more than 30 days since we chartered two planes and flew 545 persecuted Christians and at-risk Afghans out of the country.

Many have asked, what happens next?

This group of refugees are now temporarily housed in Humanitarian City in Abu Dhabi. They have 90 days from the time of their arrival to leave the country and re-settle.

No one boarded either of these flights with anything more than a handbag. That’s it. All their belongings were left behind as they fled to safety. While they are all grateful to be alive, you can imagine the pressure and uncertainty they are now facing.

Afghan refugees arrive in Abu Dhabi

Help The Persecuted remains committed to these men, women, and children. We are assisting them with:

  • Paperwork that must be completed for their resettlement
  • Arrangements for flights out of Abu Dhabi
  • Temporary housing and living expenses when they land in their new home country

The country of Brazil has emerged as a potential new home for these persecuted Afghans. We have strong contacts in local churches, and the community there is ready to step up and serve as the Body of Christ, welcoming in this group of refugees.

Please pray with us for this opening into Brazil, and the provision of funds to move these 545 people on safely, with dignity — all within the allotted timeframe.

If we are able to accomplish this, that leaves the door open with Abu Dhabi to receive more evacuees, creating a stable pathway for persecuted Christians and at-risk Afghans to escape their country.

Help The Persecuted, along with other ministries, will prayerfully help fund more flights out and continue our efforts to Rescue, Restore, and Rebuild the lives of our persecuted brothers and sisters in Afghanistan.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers and financial support for these efforts.

In Christ,

Josh Youssef
