It’s been another big week on the Breakfast show. On Wednesday, in an effort to beat the heat, I took the show to Cottesloe Beach. Thank you to our ABC Perth team for pulling off the technical challenges involved with less than 24 hours' notice. And a big thanks to you for tuning in. If you missed it, the program ended with me diving into the ocean live on air. Thankfully, no microphones or headphones were damaged in the process. What a magical way to start the day! On Thursday, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese came on the Breakfast show to answer questions about the federal budget. You can expect to hear a bit more from our federal politicians in coming weeks, with the PM visiting the Governor General this morning to send us to the polls on May 3. We also had the Derby before the Derby, with Dockers defender Brennan Cox and Eagles forward Matt Owies giving us the inside word ahead of Sunday’s 60th Western Derby. Surely one team has to get its first win of the season! It was nice to round out the week with a prize giveaway. Our lucky winner is off to see pop icon Cyndi Lauper’s farewell tour at Perth Arena in a couple of weeks. Enjoy! As you can see, we have a really diverse range of content on the Breakfast show. I hope you can join in the fun, weekdays from 5am. Mark |
