Pete's reopens after fire

Welcome to another edition of the Acadiana Business Newsletter. Let's get to the headlines....

Pete's tried to have a soft opening — but word got out, and this week the people of Lafayette flocked to the Johnston Street sports bar to see the new space after a fire shut down the business last August.

They found a new look — owner Charlie Goodson says they chose to lean heavily into the sports bar aesthetic, with "TVs everywhere" — and an updated menu, with new offerings like "Pete'za" alongside their popular burgers and appetizers.

"There's a lot of pressure in opening," says Goodson. "We opened for a couple of days without saying anything, then word slipped out. But if you don't get that push, you never get there."

Catalyst Bank reports $4.7M loss in first quarter
