Under the title, "Photographic Material: Archives and Tools", over two days (3/4 May) the symposium will deal with matters relating to the materiality of photography and artistic strategies in the age of virtual reality and 3D photography as well as the task and challenge of conveying photographic archives into a digital future. At the invitation of the Kölnisches Stadtmuseum, it will be curating an exhibition titled "YOU ARE HERE - Versuche einer fotografischen Standortbestimmung, Teil 1" on the upper floor of the Alte Wache. In doing so, Photoszene will live up to one of its core tasks: to manifest current trends in the field of photography and put them up for discussion. (Duration 4 May - 14 July 2019) Following the great success of the supporting programme at the Photoszene Festival in 2018, which was implemented in partnership with the German Photographic Association (DGPh), this collaboration will also be continued in 2019 with exciting events such as “Photographer’s Night” and “Streaming Pictures - Meet the Universities”. In addition, the DGPh will be handing out its prestigious Dr Erich Salomon Award for Outstanding Photojournalism within the context of the Photoszene Festival on 10 May. | | | | | | © Ronit Porat, „Untitled, 2017 (from Mr. Ulbrich and Miss Neumann)“ manipulated photograph, 60 x 40 cm | | | | Registration is now possible!
