PD SPRING FUND DRIVE!

Celebrate Poetry Month with PD:
 • Give to Poetry Daily!

Poetry Daily Newsletter Special Edition

Dear Friends,

April marks both Poetry Month in the U.S. and our 19th anniversary fund drive!

Our mission remains the same as it was when we began on April 7, 1997: to help make authentic contemporary poetry part of everyday life. Our method: to pay devoted attention to the very diverse work being done by contemporary poets, editors, and publishers and to spread word of that work as simply, clearly, and directly as we can.

As we begin the new year-in-poetry, we ask you to join us once again by making a donation to Poetry Daily. Now more than ever we need your help: since 2008, PD’s annual budget has not increased, and our fundraising goal from our readers to meet that budget has remained at $55,000. But for the past several years, despite our best efforts, funding from other sources—government granting agencies and sponsors—has declined. In short, we depend more than ever on individual contributions to keep us in service to you and to poetry. Our goal for this year is $60,000.If you share with us a devotion to contemporary poetry and value what we do, please help to sustain us for another year. Make your donation today!

Remember that the Daily Poetry Association (publisher of Poetry Daily) is a 501(c)(3) corporation, and that your contribution is tax deductible.

To launch our spring drive and for some special anniversary fun, stand by for our annual "Poets' Picks" e-mail feature, beginning on Friday, April 1st: we've asked 20 past Poetry Daily poets to contribute to our celebration by selecting poems to be delivered to you by e-mail each weekday in April — their favorites from among The Greats — along with their commentary. (And in the meantime, if you missed last year's feature, have a look at last year's picks...)

We deeply appreciate your loyalty to Poetry Daily and your continued support!

With heartfelt thanks and warmest wishes,

Don Selby & Diane Boller
