News Releases Students from Neil Armstrong STEM Academy drop pumpkins from various heights to measure the âSplat Radiusâ Students from Neil Armstrong Academy will be joined by members of the West Valley City Fire Department as they conduct a fun and visual science activity to study how energy and speed are related by dropping pumpkins from various heights. Join them Tuesday, November 8 at 2:15 p.m. at Neil Armstrong Academy as students measure each pumpkinâs speed with a radar gun and measure the âSplat Radiusâ (which is a totally scientific term for Armstrong Academy now) to demonstrate how energy and speed are related.
