Amazon reportedly is dividing a second headquarters into two locations, instead of choosing one spot, to find workers skilled in software development, machine learning and big data. The decision could alleviate strain on labor and housing markets that a single location would cause.

Older Americans are replacing teenagers as fast-food workers, with restaurants recruiting at senior centers and on websites such as AARP because older people often have skills teenagers lack. The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects the number of employed 65- to 74-year-olds to increase 4.5% between 2014 and 2024, while the number of 16- to 24-year-olds will decrease 1.4%.
