When it comes to end-of-season awards, Premier League has been collecting billions of data points and is letting the numbers speak for themselves. Oracle data scientist Brian Macdonald explains how he used OCI Data Science, machine learning, computer vision algorithms, and JSON capabilities in Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse to speed up analysis on data points from 380 matches. The result was a short list of candidates for Premier League’s Most Improbable Comeback and Most Powerful Goal awards.
