President Joe Biden. Vice President Kamala Harris. Democratic Majorities in the House and Senate.

This is a historic day.

Today, Joe Biden became the 46th President of the United States.

Kamala Harris — Madam Vice President — is now the first woman, the first Black person, and the first Asian-American person to become Vice President.

And today, Democratic Senators from Georgia and from California will be sworn in (by Vice President Harris), securing a Democratic majority in the Senate, to go with our Democratic majority in the House.

Today is a new day in America. And it's one that would not have been possible without your support, Voornaam.

The last four years have been among the most challenging we've ever faced as a nation.

With a would-be tyrant occupying the Oval Office seeking to divide us, we stuck together, we fought back, we resisted, and we persisted. And today, we celebrate that America has entrusted Democrats to lead and tackle the challenges we face head-on, and build back better than before.

That work begins today in earnest, with President Biden expected to sign numerous Executive Orders to help our country emerge from the pandemic and start to undo the damage done by Trump over the last four years. The orders are expected to include rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, ending Trump's Muslim travel ban, reversing Trump's decision to withdraw from the World Health Organization, requiring masks on all federal grounds, extending moratoriums on evictions and on federal student loan payments, and much more.

Today, I hope you take a moment or two to celebrate the history we all witnessed today. You made it possible. And I hope that you'll be with us as we continue to do the work it takes to support the Biden/Harris administration and keep building toward a more perfect union.
