Good afternoon, I hope you are well on this rainy Tuesday. Storm Francis has arrived, bringing with it some decidedly autumnal weather. Today's top tip is wear your waterproof as it might be a bit windy for a brolly! We are following the storm's progress all day. This morning there were problems on the M6 following a smash and we reveal 14 jobs are at risk after news Preston's West View leisure centre will be remaining closed for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, tributes have been paid to a well-known character from Preston known as Jam, who has died. Jam,a gardener and self professed guru, was well known to the Post newsroom staff as he once came in and presented a reporter with a watermelon! Also today, Preston's Windrush Generation HQ is closing, leaving them desperately in need of a new home. Can you help? We've shared some of the remarkable achievements of this organisation. Up in Lancaster, a man has left his entire £750,000 fortune to cancer research in memory of his twin brother, plus firefighters have battled a blaze in Heysham. And workers on a Covid ward ward have asked not to be split up just yet as they deal with their collective trauma from working through the pandemic. I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday. Don't forget not all news is bad news - we want to hear your happy news and you can always email the newsdesk at lep.newsdesk@jpimedia.co.uk We are particularly looking for lockdown transformations. Did you turn your shed into a bar, re--landscape your garden or transform yourself? Let us know! Regards, Nicola Nicola Adam, deputy editor Lancashire Post.
