BY DOUG GRAHAM | Staff writer Baton Rouge police expect at least two more arrests in connection with last week's hazing death of 20-year-old Southern University student Caleb Wilson. One person has turned himself in to police and faces counts of manslaughter and hazing. Police Chief Thomas Morse Jr. said at a news conference Friday that Wilson's death was the "direct result" of being punched during a Omega Psi Phi. fraternity hazing ritual for pledges. Dennis Shields, president of Southern University, said the fraternity was ordered to "cease all activities" at the university. East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sid Edwards joined law enforcement officials at the news conference and encouraged young people to "make better decisions," adding "we've got to do better, Baton Rouge." Authorities have been searching for Letheel White since he became a suspect in a 2016 shooting in East Baton Rouge Parish that left one woman dead and another severely wounded.
