In the Fantasy scouting reports that have already been completed, Dave Richard, Jamey Eisenberg, and Dan Schneier took the time to list the best team fit for each prospect. This week, Dave provided a draft preview for the top draft prospects at the quarterback position and highlighted a list of the best landing spots for rookie quarterbacks quarterbacks. |
Jamey took on the running back preview and is seemingly very high on a couple of my favorite backs in the draft. While free agency will play a major role in who will be targeting a running back in the draft, there are still multiple teams with vacated work that will likely go to a rookie running back. In his running back landing spots piece, Jamey explores the five best teams for a rookie running back from a Fantasy perspective. |

2024 NFL Draft quarterback preview |
At this point, we all know the names of the top quarterback prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft, but what does that mean for Fantasy? In this column, Dave gives some insight as to why each of the seven prospects he listed could make a major impact in Fantasy this upcoming season. When it comes to Caleb Williams, Dave believes his arm strength, accuracy, and mobility will enable him to thrive very early in his NFL career. |
|
Another quarterback listed in Dave's preview that I'm also a big fan of is Spencer Rattler. It appears that Rattler is not getting the respect he deserves in many scouting circles, but he has an absolute whip for an arm and his mechanics are sound, even in the face of a pass rush. I'd like to see him consistently confirm his pre-snap read after the snap, but that's something that he will get better with over time. |
Stash-worthy QB: The quarterback who should get heavy consideration as a stash candidate is Jordan Travis, provided he makes a full recovery from a broken ankle. He's got uncanny accuracy on vertical routes and consistently works touchdown, first down, to checkdown. He's mobile and can move the chains with his legs if necessary. Keep him in mind in your next Fantasy draft, as he could end up being a major steal. |

Best landing spots for 2024 rookie quarterbacks |
Several teams are in the market for a quarterback leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft, and some are better landing spots for young quarterbacks than others. Dave lists the Minnesota Vikings as a top destination for a young signal-caller, and understandably so. The Vikings have the No. 11 and No. 23 picks in the draft. If they select J.J. McCarthy or Michael Penix Jr., they'd be walking into a very favorable situation given the weapons they'd be surrounded by. |
|
The Giants check in at No. 6 on Dave's list, and it's plain to see why that may be. Their receiver corps, though exciting, is relatively unproven and inexperienced. Additionally, Daniel Jones is still the starting quarterback in New York, and it could become difficult for a young quarterback to usurp him as the starter. At this point, New York would be best served continuing to build out their roster around Jones because if they select a young QB with the No. 6 pick in the draft, the front office and coaching staff would simply be doing so for the next regime. |
2024 NFL Draft running back preview |
Jamey Eisenberg focused on who he believes are the top running backs in the 2024 NFL Draft and came up with a rather compelling list. Listed as his No. 1 running back is Jonathan Brooks out of Texas. Brooks will be rebounding from an ACL tear he suffered in November, but he's an intriguing prospect as he's capable of being a three-down running back in the NFL. At 6-foot and 216 pounds, he's said to have run a 4.45 in the 40-yard dash in the past. However, I like a couple of backs on his list a good bit better than Brooks. |
|
Trey Benson is Jamey's No. 3 back, but he's been my No. 1 for quite some time now. Benson excels at breaking tackles, and he has more than enough speed to run away from secondary defenders. Another back that Jamey and I both love is MarShawn Lloyd. He's my No. 3 back, but he checks in at No. 5 in Jamey's running back preview. He's a threat in the passing game and can be a matchup nightmare for linebackers and safeties. If he finds himself in Sean Payton's offense in Denver, he could have an outstanding rookie year. |
Stash-worthy RB: Jaden Shirden of Monmouth could become a household name if given the work necessary to be a productive Fantasy back. He's got great acceleration and has the ability to make defenders miss in confined spaces. He's also got home-run hitting speed, so if he breaks into the second level of a defense, he could very well take it the distance. |

Best landing spots for 2024 rookie running backs |
Free agency shook up the running back landscape, but there are still multiple teams in need of help at the position. While many pundits believe this is a weak running back class, quality starters and depth can still be found. The Dallas Cowboys are among the teams searching for help at the running back position, and according to Jamey, Dallas is the top destination for a rookie running back as they look to replace Tony Pollard's production. |
|
The Cowboys will rely on Rico Dowdle and Deuce Vaughn to replace Pollard's vacated receptions and carries, but it's highly likely they'll also draft a running back. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Cowboys select a back like Jonathan Brooks in the middle rounds of the draft. Jamey has the Carolina Panthers as his No. 5 destination, as there will be plenty of opportunity for whoever they draft at running back. Miles Sanders and Chuba Hubbard won't strike much fear in opposing defenses, and unfortunately, neither does the rest of Carolina's offense at this juncture. |
