Dear Friend, As our nation approaches a critical election, it can be daunting as Christians to navigate these waters with wisdom and grace.
Our politics are rife with disorder, and our nation is undeniably struggling under heavy burdens of inflation and international crises. Amidst the whirlwind of our political landscape, we’re also facing significant legal battles—including threats to our fundamental, God-given freedoms. As Chief Legal Counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, I have a front-row seat to these cases. Every day, we defend clients whose right to live and speak the truth is threatened. These persistent challenges to our freedoms can be disheartening. But despite the chaos around us, we know the God we serve is sovereign over all things; nothing happens outside of His control. Nations, leaders, and all of creation are subject to Him. The strife and difficulty our nation faces now are not too great for our God to handle. And we know that, in these moments when we feel burdened, we can bring our concerns to Him, assured that He hears our prayers. In fact, we’re called to do this—to “[cast] all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). Let’s meet this important moment in our country by submitting to God in prayer, confident that He “is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20). | First, a word of praise for who He is and how He has worked recently here at ADF. By His grace, all five of ADF’s Title IX lawsuits have brought a temporary halt to the Biden-Harris administration’s unlawful changes to Title IX—changes that would allow males who identify as girls into women’s private spaces like locker rooms. We’re thankful for God’s provision and the ways He continues to move in this area. A prayer of intercession as our nation grapples with serious issues like the harms to children from transgender ideology and the threat to unborn children from abortion. Ask that God would change hearts and minds about these issues. And supplication that asks the Lord to protect and preserve our nation in this season when emotions are running high and unrest looms. As the election approaches, pray for the Lord to restore and strengthen love between neighbors who might disagree about election-related issues. |
Though we’re in a cultural moment that can feel difficult and weighty, God gives us strength to be faithful and to endure. We depend on God alone as we work to honor Him and keep the door open for the Gospel—and we trust that He will provide astonishing results. |
