Keeping Dr. Death–inspired Texas law on the credentialing radar

Christopher Daniel Duntsch, a former American neurosurgeon nicknamed “Dr. Death,” is serving a life sentence after being accused of injuring as many as 35 patients in less than two years before his license was revoked by the Texas Medical Board. Several organizations failed to perform their due diligence or disclose all information concerning Duntsch; these actions allowed him to continue practicing and pose a great danger to patients. This year, the state of Texas put into law provisions it hopes will prevent people like Duntsch from maintaining credentials to provide patient care.
