Yokomo have introduced the YD-2RR rear motor conversion kit for the YD-2E and YD-2S RWD drift car kits. The set includes new gearbox halves that use a reduced amount of idler gears for better throttle response while an updated motor position, with the motor sitting closer to the rear axle, eliminates the unwanted pendulum effect. The newly designed “swingable” motor plate allows to rotate the motor in order to access different throttle and weight balance setups for a range of track conditions and a resin rear chassis brace offers controlled chassis flex for improved rear end response. The set is rounded out by a set of spacers that brings the body posts to the previous position as the shock tower is moved forward to make way for the spur gear. The conversion is a direct fit on the YD-2E and will fit the YD-2S using optional parts such as the E series upper decks, the Y2-303AR alloy or Y2-303MR plastic rear brace supports and and battery holder.

Coming from DMS Partz are new 4.8mm swaybar balls with 2mm holes for the Corally SBX-410 4WD buggy. The black anodised balls feature a 2mm centre hole to accept larger size sway bars which comes in when running in high to very high bite track conditions. The swaybar balls come in sets of four and they are available now.

Schumacher have announced the popular Schumacher GP Series for the coming 2019/20 indoor season. The 3-race series will be held at the MB Raceway in Leeds and will cater for GT12, Touring 17.5T Blinky Hobbywing Handout, Touring 13.5T Blinky, and LMP12 classes. All classes will run to BRCA Rules, the GT12 class will run on Contact “Green Stripe” the Touring class on Sorex XG-28RK and LMP12 on “Orange Stripe” control tyres. There will be a 100 driver limit, initially 50 x GT12, 16 x 17.5T Hobbywing Handout Touring, 24 x 13.5T Touring, 10 x LMP12. Last weekend saw the running of the 2019 Hungarian IC Track Championship that was held in Graz, Austria. In the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring class it was Oliver Havranek who would bring home the win in the main final following a short battle with Simon Ciudar in the opening stages of the race. Ultimately Simon had to settle for 2nd overall while Tamas Sagi came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Following their B74 Extra and Mid hole front shock towers, Bezerk from Australia now also introduced a standard front shock stay for Team Associated’s B74 buggy. The part matches the standard kit geometry, however an updated shape adds strength up top for improved reliability when the going gets tough. The shock tower is available in heavy duty 5.0mm or lightweight 4.0mm thickness.

Round 4 of the 2019 Swiss Electric On-road Nationals was held at the Mini Racing Cars Aigle & Lausanne club last weekend. In the Touring Pro Stock class it was Awesomatix’s Boris Siladi with a near clean sweep in the qualifiers, taking three of the four rounds for the overall TQ from Xray’s Cham Dassanayake, who won a single qualifying round. The triple A-mains then saw more dominating runs from Boris who took wins in all three mains for the overall from Cham on the runner-up spot. Cédric Ansermoz (Awesomatix) would come in 3rd to round out the podium. With the win at round 4 Boris would also wrap up the overall title, making it a back-to-back championship after taking home the indoor title earlier this year.

Oli Meggitt and the EWS Events team have announced the details of the 2019/2020 Essex Winter Series. Now entering its ninth season, the championship will take place at the regular EWS indoor venue in the South-East of the UK. The championship will consist of five rounds, starting in October and running through to March. There will be classes for Modified and Super Stock 13.5 Blinky touring car, running on the EWS Sweep controlled tyre, along with Front Wheel Drive (17.5 handout motor), using the popular Ride tyre. A controlled additive will be in place this year to help provide the best possible grip on the ETS carpet used for the track. All the information on the series, along with the entry form, can be found on the official website here. Entries are expected to fill quickly. More details on the popular  “EWS International” event, which is separate to the series and will take place in December, will be announced soon. Last weekend the final round of the Belgian IC Track Nationals took place in Bierset, a high speed track with two full throttle chicanes. After qualifying Steven Cuypers managed to take the overall TQ in front of Robin D’hondt and Renaud Velkeneers. In the 30-minute final Steven finished 2nd behind winner Robin D’hondt and in front of 3rd placed Augustin Mejor, which was enough to take the overall 2019 Belgian Championship title.
