| Tomas Liptak wins at Austrian IC Track Nats Rd4 Posted: 11 Oct 2019 08:16 AM PDT Round 4 of the Austrian IC Track Nationals was held at the MORAC track in Graz recently. In the 1/8th IC Track class it was Branislav Panak with the overall TQ, from Tamas Sagi 2nd and Bjan Miklozic in 3rd position. Tomas Liptak would round out the top 4 after the qualifiers. Later Branislav had to take a ten minutes timeout because of some problems with his car so he started from the back of the grid in the opening 20-minute A-main event. The win would went to Tomas after a clean run with Tamas Sagi 2nd and Branislav Panak 3rd. The second of the dual A-mains saw Tomas taking the lead some three laps onto the race and from there he never looked back to take the win with Branislav in 2nd and Tamas in 3rd place. | MTS T3 mid-motor conversion kit Posted: 11 Oct 2019 06:49 AM PDT Coming soon from MTS is a mid-motor conversion kit for their T3 electric touring car. The set includes a new lower chassis plate, multi-piece motor and layshaft mount, a C-shaped centre bar to adjust chassis stiffness and included is also a reversible upper deck that allows to fine-tune the stiffness of the front or rear end of the car by flipping it around, swapping between a split and solid setting. In addition the torsional flex of the top deck is adjustable using included carbon fibre plates that help to reinforce the top plate. The set is rounded out by a new spur gear mount, front and and rear belts as well as carbon fibre battery locators. First up is an O-ring battery retention system that ensures quick and easy battery swaps of both standard and LCG shorty batteries while the design also allows for effortless battery position tuning and more natural chassis flex. The set includes two carbon fibre battery braces, mounting hardware and two high-quality rubber O-rings. The set is usable on both the B6.1 buggy and T6.1 truck. Also new are -2mm carbon fibre Ackermann plates for the B74 4WD buggy. Machined from high-quality carbon fibre their updated geometry makes for a more aggressive steering feeling which comes in handy when running in wet astro turf conditions or on very tight carpet tracks. | Shepherd Velox V8.2 carbon chassis aero kit Posted: 11 Oct 2019 04:19 AM PDT Shepherd have announced the release of their new carbon aero kit for the chassis of their popular Velox V8.2 1/8th nitro on-road kit. The set was developed to reduce turbulences under the car, with the slicker surface making for higher top speeds. Two inserts are included in the set, a small one which is fixed with one centre screw and a longer one for the front chassis cut-out which is fixed using two screws that also allow to fine-tune the flex characteristic of the front end. | KARS On-Road Championship – Report Posted: 11 Oct 2019 03:52 AM PDT The KARS On-Road Championship was recently held at the Icheon track in Korea with about 50 drivers in attendance. The 1/8th nitro main final was a close affair between Germany’s Andreas Giesa, 3-times Korean champion Kiyong Hong and Jaekook Yoo with the top 3 finishing within one lap. After 40 minutes Andreas saw the checkered in first position about five seconds in front of Kiyong. Jaekook completed the podium another two seconds down. In the 1/10th Nitro Touring class things were more clear as Patrick Schäfer was able to take the victory with a massive gap of seven laps over the remainder of the field. Yanghyeun Kim took the runner-up spot and Gyujin Lee grabbed the final podium place another lap down. The 1/8th electric class was dominated by young female racer Nayeon Lee. She took the overall TQ and won all three finals to secure the top spot on the podium. Seonguk Jeong finished in 2bd place with Jeongsoo Park completing the podium.
