Schumacher Atom 2 carbon fibre chassis Posted: 02 Mar 2020 09:17 AM PST Schumacher have introduced a new carbon fibre chassis for the Atom 2 GT12 car. The main plate offers more flex and durability compared to the standard steel chassis, making it a great tuning option for low and medium grip tracks. Marcus & Jonas Kaerup win at RC Kongen Winter Series Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:31 AM PST Round 5 of the popular Danish RC Kongen Winter Series was held in four electric off-road classes this past weekend. In 2WD Modified Buggy it was Team Associated driver, Marcus Kaerup with the overall TQ from his father Jonas Kaerup (Team Associated) as Yokomo’s Frederik Hovgaard came in 3rd after the qualifiers. The single 5-minute A-main then brought an unchanged top 3 result with Marcus taking the win some seven seconds in front of Jonas as Frederik completed the top 3, a lap down. Over in the Stadium Truck class it was Jonas Kaerup with the TQ and win as Tobias Baungaard and Jonas Kristensen ended the day in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Alex Bernadzik wins at Brisbane Classic Rd2 Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:10 AM PST The second round of the Brisbane Classic was held at the Pine Hills Dirt Racing track in Bunya, Queensland, Australia this past weekend. In the Nitro Buggy class Team Associated’s Alex Bernadzik made a clean sweep as he took the overall TQ and also the win in the 30-minute main final, leaving behind Darren Perry (Tekno RC) in 2nd, some two laps behind as Jak Parsey (Team Associated) ended the day in 3rd, another lap down. Carsten Keller back with Team Associated Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:01 AM PST Team Associated and Ruddog Distribution have announced the return of German 1/8th off-road frontrunner, Carsten Keller to their team. Carsten already used Team Associated machinery before switching to Mugen for the 2017 to 2019 seasons and he is now back with AE gear, with his first race already being a great success as he took a double win in Nitro and Electric Buggy at last weekend’s Bütschwil GP in Switzerland. Fuller & Horne win at Chi-Town Shootout Posted: 02 Mar 2020 06:49 AM PST Impact RC Raceway of Morris, Illinois played host to the Chi-Town Shootout this past weekend with the annual event drawing over 260 entires. In 2WD Mod Buggy it was TLR driver, Mason Fuller with the overall TQ and he would also sweep the triple A-mains as he sealed the bag already after A2 as Mason took wins in the opening two A-mains, allowing him to sit out A3. 2nd overall went to Austin Wick (Team Associated) who scored three 2nd place finishes as Aydin Horne (Team Associated) came in 3rd overall despite winning the final A-main. Over in the 4WD Mod Buggy A-main it was TQ holder, Aydin Horne with the win after having to go into the tie-breaker with Mason Fuller. Nick Cox wins Answer RC Winter Series Round 8 Posted: 02 Mar 2020 06:25 AM PST Round 8 of the Answer RC Winter Series was held at the Pendle & District Model Car Club in Nelson, Lancashire, UK this past weekend. The weather forecast was no rain and fresh breeze and thankfully the rain stayed away but there was a slightly strong breeze that was bone chilling. However this did help dry the track out to the point where Allan Ward ventured onto mini pins for his final. The event saw five rounds of 6-minute qualifying dolled by 22-minute bump-up finals. In the end it was Nick Cox (HB Racing) with the win a lap in front of Allan Ward (HB Racing) as Lewis Rushton (Team Associated) came in 3rd, another lap down. Booth & Howells take Astro Winter Series titles Posted: 02 Mar 2020 05:50 AM PST The fifth and final round of the Astro Winter Series was held at the Brookthorpe Model Car Club in the UK this past weekend. This meeting was a strange one to start with because there was a level of apprehension in the air because no one seemed to know what was going to happen with the weather. Ultimately it was a bit of an on and off affair but the race would mainly go on as planned and with 55 drivers in attendance. As for the racing, the 15-minutes Nitro Buggy A-final was the last race of the day and it was won by Lee Martin (Agama) with an impressive 23 laps. Mitch Booth came in 2nd place with his Tekno. Jake Knight came in 3rd place, 4th place was taken by another Agama driver, Kevin Brunsden. Overall in the Buggy championship it was Mitch Booth with the title from Chris Sharpe-Simkiss on the runner-up spot. Daniel Austin came in 3rd, Jake Knight finished 4th and Liam Brocklehurst ended the season sitting in 5th overall. Over in the 15-minute Truggy A-main Jon Howells took the win. A new driver to Truggy and new driver to the AWS series, Ashley Patterson took a popular 2nd place. 3rd place was taken by Ian Slater, and finally Chris Carlisle took 4th place with his electric Tekno. As for the Truggy championship it was Jon Howells with the 2019/20 title from Paul Abbott and Ian Slater. Chris Carlisle and Mick Fallows completed the top 5. Find the full report here. Juan Carlos Canas wins at Levante Champs Rd1 Posted: 02 Mar 2020 05:10 AM PST The opening round of the Levante Championship was held at the Circuito de Roldan track in Murcia, Spain this past weekend. The single Nitro Buggy class saw Juan Carlos Canas taking the overall TQ from Manuel Iniesta in 2nd and Oscar Baldo in 3rd. The opening stages of the 45-minute A-main event brought some mix ups all over the field with Manuel Iniesta eventually taking the lead but not for long as he dropped back to the end of the field and eventually recovered to 7th overall, while Juan Carlos regained P1 on lap 8 and from there he never looked back to take the win a lap in front of Oscar Baldo while Antonio Manuel Almaida came in 3rd overall to round out the podium another lap down. Buri Racer E2.1 Evo – Coming soon Posted: 02 Mar 2020 04:36 AM PST Buri Racer have announced the soon release of their new E2.1 Evo 1/8th 4WD electric pan car kit. The latest incarnation of the popular pan car features several upgrades as standard, such as front carbon fibre aero discs for the steering hubs, body reinforcements for the rear body mount as well as struts that connect the lower front A-arms with the chassis.
