| Bornhorst sweeps Holiday Hangover RC Arenacross 2020 Posted: 16 Mar 2020 11:25 AM PDT The Holiday Hangover RC Arenacross 2020 was held in Moses Lake, Washington over the weekend, attracting over 270 entries including some of the country’s fastest off-road racers. In the premier class of 1/8th Nitro Buggy it was Tekno RC’s Joe Bornhorst with the overall TQ and also came out on top after the 30-minute A-main event, however he was hotly contested by Mugen’s Adam Drake with whom he swapped the lead several times. In the end Adam had to settle for 2nd overall, some 2.5 seconds behind Joe. Four laps down it was Marcus Anzivino (Kyosho) who would round out the top 3. Over in the Nitro Truggy class it was again Joe Bornhorst with the overall TQ and he came out swinging in the 30-minute A-main event as Kyosho driver, Cody Grams finished on the runner-up spot some two laps behind. Joseph Johnson (Xray) came in 3rd overall. The 1/8th Expert E-Buggy class saw Joe Bornhorst taking his third TQ and win during the weekend. Starting from Pole Joe won A1 and A2 for an early overall victory from A3 winner, Adam Drake. Tayler Wonders (Tekno RC) finished in 3rd overall. | Paul Ciccarello takes Tennessee State Championship title Posted: 16 Mar 2020 09:55 AM PDT The 2020 Tennessee State Championship was held at ROCCK Racing in Knoxville, Tennessee last weekend. The event attracted nearly 180 entries and in Pro Nitro Buggy it was Xray’s Adam Johnson with the overall TQ from teammate, Paul Ciccarello in 2nd. The 30-minute saw Adam out in front by up to two laps, however with less than two minutes to go he suffered a mechanical and had to limp his car around the track. Teammate Paul Ciccarello took advantage of this and took home the win with Adam still managing to hold onto 2nd place. William McIver (Serpent) came in 3rd overall to round out the top 3 result. | Jason Nugroho wins Indonesia Buggy Nationals opener Posted: 16 Mar 2020 07:48 AM PDT The Banana RC Track in Batam City, Indonesia held round 1 of the Indonesia Buggy Nationals this past weekend. A total of 24 drivers from Jakarta, Medan, Banjarmasin as well as local drivers attended the event whose schedule saw six rounds of 10-minute qualifying with the best four to count. Ultimately it was Jason Nugroho (HB Racing/Ninja) with the TQ honours, but he suffered a flame out in his semifinal and finished in 2nd place only. This meant he had to start from P3 on the grid, however after the 60-minute main final encounter Jason found his way to the top again as he finished a lap in front of Adrian Wicaksono (Mugen/Ninja) while Rama Danindro (Kyosho/O.S.) ended the race in 3rd, another lap down. Rizki Pradana (Mugen) came in 4th and Andre S. rounded out the top 5 result, also driving a Mugen. Final result: Thanks to Michael Nugroho for the report. | Lefebvre doubles at Thornhill Championship Series Rd3 Posted: 16 Mar 2020 04:26 AM PDT Round 3 of the 2020 Thornhill Championship Series was held at Thornhill Racing Circuit in Hutto, Texas last weekend, attracting over 100 entries. In Expert Nitro Buggy it was Xray’s Ethan Lefebvre with the overall TQ and he would also come out on top after the 25-minute A-main event, leaving behind Spencer Harrison (Xray) in 2nd, some 18 seconds behind. Dillon Caldwell (HB Racing) would end the race in 3rd, some two seconds behind Spencer as Chris Marrant (HB Racing) and Chris Allison (Tekno RC) completed the top 5 result. Over in 1/8th E-Buggy class it was again Ethan with the overall TQ and he also took wins in A1 and A2 of the double A-main forma for the overall from Spencer Harrison and Aiden Ferrell (Team Associated). | VanDalen & Tebo win at Tekno RC Winter Series Posted: 16 Mar 2020 02:14 AM PDT The Hobbyplex indoor facilities in Omaha, Nebraska played host to the Tekno RC Winter Series this past weekend, attracting over 185 entries for the several nitro and electric off-road classes. The premier 1/8th Nitro Buggy class saw Seth VanDalen taking the overall TQ and he would also walk away with the win after the 30-minute A-main event, leaving behind Jared Tebo in 2nd place, some three laps down. Jarred Wiggins came in 3rd, another two laps behind, completing an all-Tekno-RC podium. In 1/8th Nitro Truggy it was Zach VanDalen (Tekno RC) with a clean sweep of TQ and win, a lap in front of Conrad Beise (HB Racing) after the 30-minute A-main event as Sean VanDalen (Tekno RC) came in 3rd, another lap down. Over in 1/8th E-Buggy it was Tekno RC’s Jared Tebo with the TQ for and the win in the single 10-minute A-main event. He would leave behind TLR’s Jason Fuller in 2nd, a lap down as Kaden Fuller (TLR) finished in 3rd, another lap down. | ID.RC 3.5cc engine piston sleeve remover Posted: 16 Mar 2020 01:49 AM PDT Coming from ID.RC is a new piston sleeve remover tool for 3.5cc nitro engines. The tool is of a simple yet effective design as the inner screw-type part interlocks with the sleeve’s timing windows while the outer body braces itself against the upper portion of the crankcase. Sturdy knurled handles on both the screw insert and outer body allow to extract the sleeve with minimal force and without harming the sleeve or crankcase. Young Noha Ben Mohamed (Xray) excelled in the 2WD Buggy class as the took the win after some tough fights in the A-mains, leaving behind Yokomo driver, Nicolas Rodrigues in 2nd.
