Racing Performer DX1 Type R titanium shaft motor Posted: 09 Oct 2020 07:36 AM PDT Yokomo have also introduced the newest version of their Racing Performer DX-1 Type-R, which is their best-selling motor for drift users. This spec features a lightweight and high quality titanium rotor shaft to further enhance the performance of the Type-R. A lighter rotor makes the throttle very smooth, while the optimised magnetic force improves high speed performance while working well with the boost and turbo functions of the speed controller. Compared to steel shafts, it is more resistant to overheating which can maximise efficiency even when running for long periods of time. In addition, by smoothing the descent of rotation when letting off the throttle, you get the feeling of rolling in the corner, which enhances control during cornering. Yokomo YD-2 slide rack, ESC mount, fans & brass mounts Posted: 09 Oct 2020 07:02 AM PDT Yokomo have released a ton of new option parts for their extremely popular YD-2 drift chassis, starting with this upgraded slide rack set. The now single piece aluminium bulkhead that supports the entire slide rack ensures more accurate setup than with the original parts. In addition, changing the bridge at the rear end of the front bulkhead to the upper deck adapter, it enhances the flex at the front of the chassis. This set is compatible with both E series and S series, and the graphite upper deck compatible with slide racks will be required when using it for the E series. An ESC mount set that can change the weight balance of the chassis by mounting it overhanging the rear axle can greatly enhance the rear traction. Especially effective on surfaces with low grip, the load applied to the rear tires at the corner exit is overwhelming. It is possible to get a particularly high acceleration feeling that leaves other cars behind. In addition, by mounting the ESC on the rear, the weight of the front can be reduced, making it easier to prevent the front tires from getting caught and oversteer. Available in purple and red. Next up is a 30mm fan with aluminium frame that is ideal for cooling the motor, and available in three colours, silver, red, and purple, which match the factory colours of the YD-2 series. The connector can be easily connected with the power supply of the receiver, and it is also compatible with 7.4V, which draws power directly from the main LiPo battery, as well as using it with a BEC power supply of 6V. The length of the cord is about 18cm and the thickness of the frame is about 10.5 mm. Finally, Yokomo have produced these brass suspension mounts for the rear suspension of the YD-2 series. With a lineup of D and E sizes, which are the same as the standard kits such as SXIII, they will increase rear traction by making it approximately 10g heavier than the kit aluminium parts. It is especially effective when accelerating at the corner exit, and because the centre of gravity can be set low, it is possible to drive very directly. Posted: 09 Oct 2020 01:25 AM PDT Serpent have released details on their new Medius X20 ’21 190mm EP touring car. Learning from the X20 they have improved some handling characteristics to make the car more nimble and improve corner speed. Stiffening of the chassis in critical areas to change the flex points along with tweaking the roll centre has led to improved speed. A refreshed drivetrain gives more acceleration and better torque delivery with the all new ball raced driveshaft system. An innovative new steering hub allows a multitude of setup combinations, including an industry first axle offset option. The new X20’21 is lighter, faster and more adjustable. New features include the all new dual ball bearing DJC shafts in the front, and in the rear the all new ball raced CVDs are included as standard. Giving ultra smooth & silent torque application throughout the suspension and steering travel. A freshly designed symmetrical chassis delivers sharper steering response with more stability, utilising the current flex options giving you ultimate adjustability to suit your track condition and driving style. Available in both carbon and aluminium variants, there are also optional aluminium chassis available (medium and hard). The dual ball bearing belt tensioners now keep that belt running silky smooth with zero chance of skipping a tooth in high power applications. The one piece Medius design with new optional fan mount is designed for easy installation and removal. In keeping with their successful dual pivot ball suspension system, they have created even more adjustment to fine tune the handling characteristics. The new Steering hub allows adjustment of axle height, offset and roll centre. Utilising these options have allowed their team drivers to create more corner speed over the previous model.
