Xpress Execute XQ10F FWD chassis Posted: 08 Dec 2020 02:23 AM PST Xpress have released a complete FWD version of their Execute XQ10 featuring a FWD drivetrain combined with a more centrally located centre of gravity. By moving the centre pulley, the motor has been moved forwards as well, putting more weight forward and changing the weight balance. Combined with a purpose shaped chassis deck, which is the result of extensive testing, combined with shorty LiPos offer the best chassis flex. Retaining the screw holes which allow for the installation of the rear T-Plate, this lets you limit the amount of rear flex as well. Fuller & Tebo win at Tekno RC Winter series Rd2 Posted: 08 Dec 2020 01:22 AM PST The second round of the Tekno RC 1:8 Winter Series at the Plex at the Hobbyplex did not disappoint. Mason Fuller (TLR) and Jared Tebo (Tekno) would be going at it again, just as they had in the opening round, fighting super close in qualifying. Jared would take the TQ in Pro Nitro Buggy, Mason in Pro Electric Buggy. The Tekno driver would try a new setup and go long on his stops, and while the pole man could battle closely with Mason, following the first pit stop Jared just couldn’t hang on anymore and lost touch. He would then battle with Tom Rinderknecht (TLR) who also got passed and in the end had to settle for 3rd, behind winner Fuller and runner up Rinderknecht. In the 10 minute Pro Electric Main, Jared would challenge Mason early and they would pass each other a few different times. The race was shaping up to be an awesome battle but with Tebo leading, Mason had a problem and dropped out of the race giving the Tekno driver an easy win. The Xray pairing of Zac Gastelum and Ashton Abdul completed the podium. JConcepts Pre-mounted Swagger & Twin Pins tires Posted: 07 Dec 2020 01:45 PM PST Two new items from JConcepts, the Twin Pins 2wd rear pre-mounted tire and the Swagger pre-mounted 2wd front tire, both in pink compound. The Twin Pins feature a dual spike which is connected together to form a mini-mountain like silhouette. The Twins are rotated throughout the design to form a solid, pin rich environment so surface area is maximised. The tire carcass itself has been refined, slammed to low-profile, pre-mounted on #3348W or #3348Y wheels refined for high-speed standards and slimmed out to reduce weight in all possible areas. The centre section of the tire is connected at the base by an ultra-low, winding ‘river walk’ which strengthens pins near the base. The ‘river walk’ can also extend the longevity of the tire once the pins are gone, the ‘walk’ retains some height for emergency long distance main events. The outside of a tire can make or break side-bite, too much pin and the tire can be somewhat tippy, while not enough yields a squirrely vehicle. The very outside of the Twin Pins have legs which extend out to micro pins giving the racer all-important support turning high-speed corners. The Swagger 2wd front tire pre-mounted for 2wd buggy racing has a multitude of heights and angular ribs for cornering speed, consistency and straight-line tracking ability. The Swagger has shown to produce ultra-fast lap times while also being easier to drive than other options on the market. The front tires are mounted and fitted to “slim” style front wheels which are already available from JConcepts. The ultra-low-profile carcass keeps a 2wd buggy very predictable and consistent in high-grip conditions while pointing the vehicle in the correct direction. JConcepts has added side-wall ribs in a circular pattern to the exterior of the tire to support high-grip racing. The pink compound marked with 2 pink dots on the tire represents a new compound for JConcepts, a medium soft material with good wear characteristics. Since the Swagger tire is so small in diameter, no insert is necessary for championship level performance.
