JConcepts ET410 Finnisher truck body shell Posted: 31 Jan 2019 08:46 AM PST Coming from JConcepts and made for the Tekno ET410 1/10th scale 4WD truck is a dedicated Finnisher body shell. One of the latest classes to hit the scene is the 1/10th truggy class and Tekno has been leading edge in this department with the release of the ET410. JC’s Finnisher body incorporates pre-dimpled locations for the ET410 and it features a slight cab forward, raked windshield and aggressive stance to highlight a performance oriented core. A wide front hood scoop allows plenty of clearance for the unique shock geometry and the body incorporates a large centre fin which begins on the roof line and finishes just past the half-way point on the bed. Chin spoiler, headlight and grille protect the front-end from unwanted up-drafts during flight while the supplied decals stand-out like an 18 wheeler. The Finnisher has a built-in air escape passage on the roof which allows the customer to fine-tune the body for maximum outdoor performance. The new body is produced with name plates which provide additional high-speed stability and improved positioning of the rear bed rails to strengthen the assembly. Overall handling has been improved by balancing the bias between the cab location and rear wing placement. Each body comes with window masks, decal sheet, and rear S-Type wing. Xray Racing Series Greece Off-road Rd1 – Report Posted: 31 Jan 2019 03:44 AM PST The opening round of the Xray Racing Series Greek Off-road was held at the Fanatix Racing Track in Athens. Cold weather and changing track conditions kept the racers on their toes, looking for the best possible setup. The 2WD Buggy pilots faced a lot of difficulties to find the right setup for the slippery and slower getting track. While the drivers scored 12-lap runs in the qualifiers, in the finals only 9-lap runs would be possible. Ultimately it was Manos Kalantzakis with the win from George Kalantzakis and Stelios Kourkoumelis. The 4WD Buggies had a bit of an easier life due to their higher traction. Ilias Arkoudaris took the day’s win, however he was closely followed by Chris Katsigiannis and Akis Lignos. 1/8 Nitro Buggy was a test for drivers and track. The results were a completely satisfying as the cars had a lot of traction, no damages at all and great competition as the track is small and tight, make passes a rear challenge. Aris Bornovas won the test race with young talented Sotiris Christodoulou 2nd and Ilias Arkoudaris 3rd with great fights between them in the whole 30-minute final. TLR 8ight X-E 1/8th electric buggy kit Posted: 31 Jan 2019 03:02 AM PST Coming soon from TLR is the 8ight-XE 1/8th electric buggy kit. It makes use of most of the features the nitro-powered 8ight-X buggy has to offer, such as an improved suspension geometry that has been completely revamped, making a car that is fast, nimble, and easy to drive. This includes a myriad of updates including aluminium spindles, 17.5-degree spindle carriers, longer front shocks, wider front pivot with less scrub radius, narrower rear pivot, longer rear shocks, and updated hub offset. The rear shocks can be mounted in front or behind the rear shock tower to adjust weight bias and new front and rear diff cases allow for better diff access. The buggy also features a more traditional “wide” style chassis that increases stability, balance and gives the buggy a more neutral feel. This also allows for the component’s to be spread out instead of cramped together as with a narrow style chassis making maintenance a breeze. The XE also features an over-sized pinion bearing in the front and rear of the buggy for increased strength and durability. This allows for a smoother, more reliable and hassle-free driveline. Also new is the lightweight and durable motor mount that aids in heat dissipation and is easy to adjust for quick gearing changes. The motor is now mounted to the chassis rather than hanging off the centre diff for added durability. To create an easier to drive, more consistent 4WD feel to the buggy, the entire driveline has been redesigned to create a reduced driveline angle on both the front and rear drive shafts. This not only creates an equalised driveline but also reduces wear on key driveline components. The body has been completely redesigned on the 8ight-XE to incorporate the cab-forward styling which creates more downforce on the front of the body. This extra downforce improves forward traction and steering. The rear of the body has been designed to create maximum airflow for less drag, while a centre fin keeps the buggy stable at speed. The kit is rounded out by a newly designed battery mounting system that not only saves weight, but it also makes battery installation and removal quick and easy. Dash RC RS-Tune brushless motor series Posted: 31 Jan 2019 01:15 AM PST Dash have announced the all new RS-Tune series of “outlaw” competition brushless motors. The new generation features a high airflow arrow design with large openings in the machined aluminium can to guarantee maximum cooling efficiency, a lower weight and minimised power fading in high ambient temperatures. The redesigned stator helps to achieve a much lower internal resistance, increasing in torque which enhances the overall performance. The RS-Tune motors are specially designed for most Asian stock racing classes as they are already equipped with a standard (V2RSS123) rotor, that keeps them within the KV and Amps requirements. The motors are available in 13.5T, 17.5T and 21.5T specification. Source: Dash RC [dash-rc.com] The post Dash RC RS-Tune brushless motor series appeared first on Red RC - RC Car News. |
