| From Dec. 16 to 18, REDCAT presents the world premiere of the latest work from internationally renowned multidisciplinary artist Nao Bustamante. The Wooden People layers ancient myths with the melodrama of the telenovela, while grappling with ideas of queer existence, love, and the cosmos. It expands on a pre-Columbian origin story, which tells of pre-humansââthe wooden peopleââwho were eventually destroyed. The evening will feature an episodic virtual reality series filmed at REDCAT â where the theater takes on a metaphorical role â presented through live scenes and projected episodic content, both featuring luminaries of the Los Angeles performance art world.
