Nostr is an open protocol designed for free speech and communication which could serve as a social media platform that prioritizes user values.

Perhaps, Nostr's decentralized tech could incentivize truthful communication — espcially with the help of Bitcoin.

Nostr allows anyone to run their own relay as a personal server or channel, differentiating it from censorship on platforms like Twitter and Meta, where posts can be removed or frozen. Data is stored on relays, and anyone can build their client to access the internet and broadcast posts with the help of public and private keys. 

By integrating Bitcoin, users would be able to leverage an open monetary network over a social communication platform that mirrors the same properties.

🗝️ Protecting Private Keys

Wyoming Legislature Passes Bill Protecting Bitcoin Private Keys From Courts

The US state of Wyoming has passed a bill that prohibits citizens from being compelled to disclose their private keys, with the exception of cases where a public key is unavailable or unable to disclose the requisite information with respect to the digital asset, digital identity, or other interest or right.

The bill will apply to private keys utilized as decentralized identities, or any other use cases, and would take effect on July 1, 2023, if signed by the governor.

Wyoming has been a focal point for Bitcoin adoption in the US, and the bill has been welcomed by advocates of private key sovereignty.

⚙️ 20,000 New Miners

CleanSpark Acquires 20,000 Bitcoin Miners For New Facilities

CleanSpark has acquired 20,000 brand new Antminer S19j Pro+ units, the latest generation of Bitmain's bitcoin mining machines, for $43.6 million.

This purchase will expand the company's bitcoin production capacity by 37%, adding 2.44 exahashes per second (EH/s) once installed. CleanSpark plans to deploy the fleet of new machines at its wholly-owned bitcoin mining locations in the USA with 15,000 of them planned for its Washington, Georgia, facility.

The Pro+ is more power-efficient and 22% more productive than the popular Antminer S19j Pro model and will be shipped in batches, with deliveries starting as early as next month.
