National Apprenticeship Week launches with graduation ceremony Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su, Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, Domestic Policy Advisor to the President Neera Tanden, and others kicked off National Apprenticeship Week 2023 with a graduation ceremony for students who recently completed apprenticeship programs. âRegistered Apprenticeships use proven strategies that help connect young people with good jobs and provide employers with skilled, entry-level employees,â explained Acting Secretary Su. âThe apprenticeship program graduates we honored here today at the Department of Labor remind us how these programs change peoplesâ lives, creating a brighter future for them and for our nation.â |
Registered Apprenticeships open up opportunities for all workers National Apprenticeship Week is going strong, involving more than 1,700 events and proclamations from communities around the country. At the start of the week, Acting Secretary Su shared success stories from some of the apprentices she's met, and reflected on apprenticeship's role in supporting nationwide economic growth. |

Pritzker at a regional convening of workforce leaders hosted by our Employment and Training Administration. Acting Secretary Suâs remarks highlighted efforts to strengthen and modernize the national apprenticeship system. She also toured a training center and met with apprentices and business leaders. |
Introducing our first cohort of Apprentice Trailblazers! Earlier this year, we announced plans to create a national network of apprentices and apprenticeship graduates whose individual stories may inspire career seekers interested in becoming apprentices. This week, we announced the 57 youth apprentices and recent apprenticeship graduates who will make up the first cohort of Apprentice Trailblazers. |
